AZS Bricks

Fused AZS bricks are widely used in float glass furnace melting part and cooling part, glass tank furnace melting part & upper structure, working tank & upper structure. Sintered AZS bricks are usually used at glass kiln regenerator checkerwork upper part and middle part, forehearth (such as upper space, charge channel, charge spout, charge bowl).

Fused zirconia corundum bricks are the most widely used fused refractory in glass industry. Fused AZS33 bricks, fused AZS36 bricks and fused AZS 41 bricks have different applications in glass furnaces.

Fused AZS 33 bricks

Fused AZS#33 bricks are used to line flame space breast wall, port fire nozzle, port jackarch, port stack, tongue arch and so on. Melting part breast wall suffers powder material corrosion, molten material washing and hot flame gas action, so AZS#33 brick are widely used here. Glass tank bottom surface bricks are also AZS33 bricks.
AZS33# bricks are usually used as surface bricks of port bottom where suffers powder corrosion and high temperature thermal change. Regenerator target wall’s working condition is the same as regenerator crown, so AZS33 bricks or high purity fused magnesia bricks are often used here.

Fused AZS 36 bricks

Tank sidewalls suffer molten glass washing and corrosion, powder material corrosion and flame corrosion, so tank sidewalls are totally built by AZS36 bricks. Filling pocket sidewall(thickness is 250mm) material is also AZS36 brick.

Fused AZS 41 bricks

Fused AZS 41 bricks are used at float glass melting part bath sidewalls and corners, throat, glass tank furnace melting tank charging spout, bubbling part and electrode part, melting part upper structure burning nozzle and other parts where glass liquid washout and corrosion are the severest.

Zirconium Mullite Bricks

Zirconia mullite bricks are classified into burned zirconia mullite bricks and fused zirconia mullite bricks.
Raw materials of burned zircon mullite bricks are high alumina bauxite and zircon. Burned zirconia mullite bricks such as anti-stripping high alumina bricks have good thermal shock resistance and abrasion resistance, besides, the addition of zircon also enhances high alumina material alkali corrosion resistance. burned zirconia mullite bricks are widely used in glass kilns.

Zirconia mullite bricks applications

Fused zirconia mullite bricks are mainly used at glass tank furnace melting tank sidewalls low temperature part, as zirconia mullite bricks have good corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance to molten glass liquid. Working tank upper structure feed nozzle upper part is constructed by zirconia mullite bricks, because they don’t contain glass phase and won’t pollute glass, and they also have strong resistance to alkaline vapors corrosion and solidified alkaline materials.

Magnesia Zirconium Brick

Direct adding method is adding ZrO2 containing material into magnesia according to required MgO/ZrO2 ratio and purity. Pre-synthesis method is the one through which MgO-ZrO2 clinker is produced and added into magnesia batch material. Surface coating method is used to coat ZrO2 based refractory to magnesia grains, so the surface of every grain forms homogeneous ZrO2 thin layer.
Compared with pure MgO material, the addition of ZrO2 can contribute to sintering, so magnesia zirconia bricks can be sintered at relatively lower temperature. With the increase of ZrO2 content, MgO-ZrO2 bricks have higher bulk density, lower porosity, higher cold and high temperature strength. The addition of ZrO2 can improve thermal shock resistance, and the higher ZrO2 content, the stronger thermal shock resistance.

Magnesia zirconia bricks are used in glass kiln regenerator checkerwork upper part and middle part and glass kiln combustion chamber upper structure. Magnesia zirconia bricks contains large amount of forsterite and zirconia, since they have strong corrosion resistance, the corrosion resistance of magnesia zirconia bricks is improved. Regenerator upper part temperature is about 1300℃, magnesia zirconia bricks can totally meet working environment. Besides, magnesia zirconia bricks also suffers SiO2 corrosion, alkaline vapor corrosion and sulfur corrosion.
