    Zirconia mullite bricks applications

    Fused zirconia mullite bricks are mainly used at glass tank furnace melting tank sidewalls low temperature part, as zirconia mullite bricks have good corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance to molten glass liquid. Working tank upper structure feed nozzle upper part is constructed by zirconia mullite bricks, because they don’t contain glass phase and won’t pollute glass, and they also have strong resistance to alkaline vapors corrosion and solidified alkaline materials.

  • Magnesia Zirconium Brick

    Direct adding method is adding ZrO2 containing material into magnesia according to required MgO/ZrO2 ratio and purity. Pre-synthesis method is the one through which MgO-ZrO2 clinker is produced and added into magnesia batch material. Surface coating method is used to coat ZrO2 based refractory to magnesia grains, so the surface of every grain forms homogeneous ZrO2 thin layer.
    Compared with pure MgO material, the addition of ZrO2 can contribute to sintering, so magnesia zirconia bricks can be sintered at relatively lower temperature. With the increase of ZrO2 content, MgO-ZrO2 bricks have higher bulk density, lower porosity, higher cold and high temperature strength. The addition of ZrO2 can improve thermal shock resistance, and the higher ZrO2 content, the stronger thermal shock resistance.

    Magnesia zirconia bricks are used in glass kiln regenerator checkerwork upper part and middle part and glass kiln combustion chamber upper structure. Magnesia zirconia bricks contains large amount of forsterite and zirconia, since they have strong corrosion resistance, the corrosion resistance of magnesia zirconia bricks is improved. Regenerator upper part temperature is about 1300℃, magnesia zirconia bricks can totally meet working environment. Besides, magnesia zirconia bricks also suffers SiO2 corrosion, alkaline vapor corrosion and sulfur corrosion.

    1. Slide plate carbon content is low, oxidization caused large area scratch seldom happens, so it is more suitable for low carbon steel and ultra low carbon steel casting.

    Long nozzle(ladle shroud)

    Long nozzle is functional refractory connects ladle and tundish.     Submerged entry nozzle

    Submerged entry nozzle plays the role of keep steel liquid from air oxidization when it flows from tundish to crystallizer, besides, it also has the function of evenly distributing steel liquid to crystallizer and controlling  steel liquid flow state at crystallizer.     Tundish upper nozzle

    Tundish upper nozzle is inserted into well block during using, it can control steel liquid flow rate combined with stopper. RS series tundish upper nozzle has excellent washout resistance, good thermal shock stability, good corrosion resistance and blockage resistance. When matched with RS series integral stopper, tundish continuous casting times can be significantly increased.

    Tundish porous upper nozzle

    To prevent blockage, traditional tundish upper nozzle and submerged nozzle service life is short. So porous tundish upper nozzle is developed to overcome this shortcoming. According to structure and function, tundish porous upper nozzles are classified into non-fast changing porous upper nozzle and fast changing porous upper nozzle(submerged nozzle can be quickly changed to promise the consistency of casting). Especially porous fast changing upper nozzle can significantly increase tundish life, although the service life of submerged nozzle is relatively low. Currently used slab tundish service life is longer than 10 hours.

    Metering nozzle

    Metering nozzles mainly adopt insertion method and, are classified into ordinary metering nozzle and quick changing metering nozzle. The main chemical composition of nozzle core is zirconia, so metering nozzle has high refractoriness, good thermal shock resistance, nice corrosion resistance, washing resistance, small nozzle hole enlargement, long service life and so on. Relying on quick change system, multi-lower nozzles can be replaced during tundish casting, so tundish service is prolonged and casting efficiency is improved.

  • Monoblock Stopper

    Nowadays, alumina carbon monoblock stoppers are most often used, gas blowing holes or porous plug is inserted at end part of monoblock stopper. During casting, argon is blew into stopper hole, and then enters into submerged nozzle. Argon enters into steel liquid in the form of small and scattered bubbles, it can decrease the amount of agglomerated Al2O3, so it won’t deposit in subentry nozzle. To prolong the life span of monoblock stopper, end part should be made from zirconia based refractory.
